Another Mondriaan talent off to YCO India

This week Shakeem Le Grand, one of our talented students from the Independent Cook course of study on our hospitality campus, is representing the Netherlands at the Young Chef Olympiad 2024 in India. This is a competition at global level, which was preceded by a rigorous preparation process for Shakeem. In addition to a number of training sessions in the kitchen, led by coach/teacher Jordy Ramakers van Praag, there were video and photo shoots and interviews for various media. Shakeem made an eager impression during these preparations: his “see you later” in the video shoot beforehand sounded like a clear “you’ll be hearing from me” intention.

This coming week will be crucial. Shakeem and his coach have arrived in India, have had the necessary moments with the press, and will keep us –  and we you – informed of the developments via social media. Even though competing is more important than winning, we will, of course, keep our fingers crossed for Shakeem! Go for it!
