Sustainability is a hot topic at many schools. Once again, another fun and educational event has been organized that focuses on this theme. Sylvie van Bleiswijk, sustainability ambassador for the School for Catering & Facility Services and the International Hotel and Management School, organized a visit to Museon in The Hague during which a large number of classes participated. In the week of February 5 to 9, the students visited the One Planet Expo exhibition. Students were able – in an interactive and fun way – to learn all about the seventeen sustainable development goals, also known as the seventeen SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
While visiting One Planet Expo, students discovered what these seventeen goals are all about. For each goal, there were an explanation, a special activity, an interactive screen, remarkable statistical data, and a short video. The students were given an assignment booklet and a challenge card to work with the goals. In addition, in the adjacent Omniversum Dome, the movie “The Arctic: Our Last Great Wilderness” was shown on the impressively large screen. This was an educational and super fun outing for the students!
