Christmas in Europe Brings 17 European Schools to The Hague

Being one of the AEHT schools, ROC Mondriaan will host the upcoming edition of the international event ‘Christmas in Europe’, in collaboration with the European Association of Hotel & Tourism Schools (AEHT). This event has been held annually since 1991 and brings together schools from across Europe to share cultural and culinary traditions during the Christmas and New Year period. This year, 20 schools from 17 countries will come to The Hague, including Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, France, Finland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Ukraine.

Christmas in Europe will take place on the Hospitality Campus of ROC Mondriaan and offers students and teachers the opportunity to share personal stories and get to know each other better through culinary dishes and cultural exchanges. The event provides a platform for dialogue, with an emphasis on cooperation and connection between the various countries.

We warmly invite you, as loyal guests of Invitez, to visit this international event: on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th December from 9:15 am to 12:30 pm. The participating schools from the different countries will present their traditions in special stands at the School for Tourism, Recreation, and Events at Helenastraat 10 (entrance at the rear by the bicycle parking).

You are most welcome to come and taste delicacies and learn more about the cultural practices of the participating countries. Students from the School for Beauty, Hair & Fashion will also be giving various workshops. A special highlight this year is the participation of a delegation from Ukraine, who will share their traditions despite the current situation in their country. Their presence underscores how education and culture can connect people, even in challenging times.

The event is a major collaborative project between various schools of ROC Mondriaan, including Hospitality and Facility Management, Tourism, Recreation and Events, Beauty, Hair & Fashion, DAPA, International Hotel and Management School, Construction and Infrastructure, and the School for Smart Technology. External partners involved in the event include the Moxy Hotel The Hague, the Graphic Lyceum Utrecht, Parish Church of Our Saviour, and DB Events.

‘We meet in sharing, caring and doing good’
