During the annual happening around the launch of the LEKKER 500 on October 31, the National Hennessy Hospitality Award 2022 was traditionally awarded. This year our “very own” former MOH student Teide Schepers emerged as the winner. Teide currently works in restaurant ‘Bij Jef’ in Den Hoorn (Texel). After his graduation from the Manager / Entrepreneur Hospitality course of study at the IHMS in 2019, he started working in various places in our dynamic sector, becoming, among other things, the “youngest sommelier in the Netherlands.” He is currently studying at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, where he is following a Fast Track course of study.
During this Hennessy Award happening, 33 students from the hospitality campus of ROC Mondriaan were active as hospitality servers.
From the press release: “The 23-year-old Teide was the best of 22 candidates who, after a year of strict pre-selection, theory and practical tests and a jury visit, competed for the prize for the best young host or hostess in the Netherlands. The theory and practical tests were conducted at the ROC Mondriaan location in The Hague (Invitez, ed.) under the jury supervision of chairman Edwin Raben.”
