On April 15, hosts Qian van der Tol and Luuk Stierum, both students at the International Hotel & Management School, won – with verve – the 2nd prize during the national competition “Talent of the Future” at the Miele Experience Centre in Vianen. The prize is a testament of their extraordinary skills in the hotel profession they are being trained for, especially considering the tremendously strong field of participants during this competition. Hours of training and fine tuning preceded this competition. The participants were given a host of tasks: blind wine tasting, creating wine-food matching combinations, creating menus, creating after-dinner mocktails, setting the table for six guests, serving and displaying hospitality skills.
In addition, the kitchen team from the competition class of the School for Hospitality & Facility Services, consisting of Quincy Pama, Marit Visser and Daan de Roos, also deserves applause. With an impressive display of teamwork and creativity, they managed to secure an admirable 4th place, showcasing their talent, teamwork and perseverance.
