An ‘Educational Dinner’ on the topic of food waste was held at Invitez on Monday, September 11, as part of the national ‘Waste-Free Week’ that kicked off on that day. The goal is to reduce food waste at school and at home as much as possible. This special dinner, consisting of three courses, was prepared with fresh leftover products from the restaurants of Invitez, The Hague Hospitality Experience Centre. The guests were amazed by the high quality and beautiful dishes presented by the students under the guidance of chefs/teachers Pierre Wind and René van Rijswijk, using leftover products.
As part of the ‘Waste-Free Week’, which will continue till September 17, special speaker Anneloes Hodes was invited, on behalf of the organization ‘Samen Tegen Voedselverspilling’, to come and share some interesting facts and trivia about food waste. She also discussed how much food is actually wasted worldwide and what we can do to help prevent it.
The ‘Educational Dinner’ will be organized more often. We will inform you in time about the dates (from 2024) that you can book for such a dinner as a regular guest of Invitez.
