Just as the May half-term holiday began for most students, Elke and Roos from class T2A flew to Bled, Slovenia, to take part in the 20th edition of the G&T Cup Cocktail Competition.
In the weeks leading up to the competition, intensive training sessions took place, with support from colleagues Dirk van Tuyl, Pieter van Groningen and, in particular, Romeo Talakua. Our alumnus Jeroen Wierenga was also “flown in” to assist with the competition preparations. This made the collaboration even more special, as Jeroen himself took part in the competition last year.
This year, each contestant was assigned an emotion. Each emotion was linked to both a colour and a spirit, which then formed the basis of the cocktail creation. Together with everyone mentioned above, we achieved a fantastic result, allowing Elke and Roos to showcase their skills during the competition on Wednesday 22 April.
They represented our school brilliantly, and as their supervising teacher, I could not be prouder of these girls.
Although we did not win any prizes, this is an experience they will never forget, and we shared some incredibly enjoyable and educational days together.
